Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz Showed Record Results for 2022
In 2022, Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz achieved record production figures at facilities in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs. Alexey Ogorodov, general director of the company, said this in an interview with the Neftegaz.ru portal.
“Despite a difficult year, we have achieved results that have not been seen in the last 17 years. It was in 2022 that Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz showed an increase in hydrocarbon production. This is a very important result, since we are one of the largest among Gazprom Neft’s subsidiaries, we have 37 fields in the YNAO and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. And the basis of our fund is made up of mature, long-developed assets, and a significant part of the reserves are hard-to-recover,” he said.
The enterprise develops mainly mature oil and gas fields that have been in operation for about 40 years, but still have potential and prospects. There are more than 30 such blocks, and some of them are currently undergoing work to re-evaluate the remaining recoverable reserves, restore previously considered unprofitable wells and search for missed layers. This allows inactive wells from the old stock to be involved in development without spending on drilling and construction of new well pads. More often, multilateral wells are being drilled using innovative technologies that reduce construction time and costs.
According to Alexey Ogorodov, 232 new wells were built in total last year, and 206 geological and technical operations were carried out on existing wells. This helped to bring missed formations and small deposits into development.
These works made it possible to discover new deposits at the Sugmutskoye, Sutorminskoye, Sredne-Iturskoye, Valyntoyskoye fields, which have been developed since the 1980s. This includes the growing share of hard-to-recover reserves, primarily Achimov reserves, which Noyabrskneftegaz intends to start developing in the near future.
In general, in 2022, the replenishment ratio of Noyabrskneftegaz’s resources reached an impressive figure of 161%. This means that the increase in reserves at the fields of the enterprise exceeded the volume of production of raw materials by 1.6 times.
As the general director noted, now Noyabrskneftegaz is implementing a program for a comprehensive renovation of the pipeline system and oilfield equipment – “Integrity and Reliability”. Over 5 years, it is planned to spend more than 40 billion rubles on their modernization, including last year’s expenses amounted to 6.6 billion rubles. The company uses pipes with an internal epoxy coating that protects against corrosion and ensures durability. To date, more than 400 kilometers of pipelines have already been renewed, diagnostics of existing highways have been completed. Over the entire period of the program, another 1,100 kilometers of pipelines will have to be reconstructed.
Speaking about the environmental aspect of Noyabrskneftegaz’s activities, Alexey Ogorodov noted that the environmentally friendly technology “Green Seismic” is used to study the subsoil; utilization of associated petroleum gas at the fields has already reached 98%. Programs are also being implemented to conserve forests, replenish aquatic biological resources, and develop eco-volunteering.
