A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee,  and Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) took place in St. Petersburg today  .

It was noted that the large-scale work of the company on the territory of the Okrug makes an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the region. In 2016–2020, capital investments of Gazprom Group companies (excluding Gazprom Neft) in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug exceeded RUB 770 billion. The key investment area is the development of the Yamal  gas production center, which is the main for the domestic gas industry  . Gas production at its key fields –  Bovanenkovskoye  and  Kharasaveyskoye  – will last for over 100 years.

Tax payments made by Gazprom’s enterprises (excluding Gazprom Neft) operating in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug provide a significant part of the revenues to the consolidated budget of the Okrug. In addition, Gazprom traditionally supports the implementation of  socially significant projects  , including in the field of healthcare, education, culture and sports. Promotes an increase in the level of employment of the local population, in particular, through the employment of specialized specialists at Gazprom’s facilities. On an ongoing basis, he participates in regional programs to support the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, to preserve their traditional way of life, crafts and culture.

Alexey Miller and Dmitry Artyukhov discussed the possibilities of Gazprom’s participation in new social initiatives in the region.
