“Get Rid of the Workover Crew, Not the ESP”: Novomet Took Part in the East Siberian Forum
A report on ColibriESP technology was presented at the forum “EASTERN SIBERIA ‘2021” by Danila Martyushev, Director of the Department of Innovative Development of JSC “Novomet-Perm”.
The advantages of this technology (lowering of equipment on a load-carrying cable) include accelerated installation and dismantling, accelerated lowering and lifting using a geophysical hoist, placement of the ESP not in the casing, but in the tubing string, which makes it possible to do without an expensive workover crew and significantly time spent on commissioning equipment for any of the possible applications.
The technology works where the complex profile of the well does not allow delivering the unit to a sidetrack, where it is necessary to develop a water-cut (oil and gas) well or to pump water from a gas well for a long time, where it is necessary to restore production if the unit fails without lifting it and involving a workover crew. where it is necessary to use ESP without killing the well, etc.
ColibriESP was first introduced to the market in the summer of 2016 and since then a large number of installations have been made around the world. We should particularly mention montages in the United States, Malaysia, OJSC “Slavneft-Megionneftegas” PAO “Orenburgneft”, etc. Installation in Romania in November 2016 on the deposit.
