Ground Breaking for Jotun Russia Factory Construction
OOO Jotun Paints is breaking ground on construction of its new protective coating and powder coating factory. The factory is being constructed on a 9 hectare land plot of land in the Fedorovsky Industrial Park in Leningrad Region.
When complete, the factory will have a capacity to produce up to 12 Million liters of paint and 3,600 tons of powder coatings per year. Jotun’s total investment in this project will be approximately RUB 1.7 Billion.
The factory will be designed and built by the Russian construction company “Metall Impress” under a “Design-Build” contract based on FIDIC* international construction contract conditions. The Jotun factory should be ready for commissioning in Q1 2014.
“In addition to our long standing supply of marine paint to the Russian shipping and ship building industry, we have seen a steady rise in sales to customers for Protective Coatings used to protect, bridges, infrastructure, as well as for oil and gas installations. Furthermore, we expect sales to grow for powder coating applications, particularly in the area of pipe coatings,” says Stein Petter Lunde, Divisional Vice-President –Jotun Paints (Europe) Ltd. “We are pleased that Jotun chose the Fedorovsky Industrial Park in Leningrad Region to locate their new production facility,” said Leningrad Region Governor Drozdenko. “We hope this decision may attract other investors who are looking for a production site where necessary utility networks are already being put in place.”
The industrial park near the town of Fedorovsky in the Tosno District of Leningrad Region is being developed by the company “Fed-Immobilen.”,
