Head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova Paid a Working Visit to Yamal
The head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Svetlana Radionova made a working trip to the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where she visited a temporary sludge pond at the Novoportovskoye field of Gazpromneft-Yamal LLC, and then, during the meeting, suggested strengthening municipal land control in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
After visiting the Novoportovskoye field, Svetlana Radionova held a meeting with the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov on topical issues of organizing the MSW and drilling waste management system in the subject. The largest amount of sludge is formed on the territories of the Nadym, Purovsky, Tazovsky, Priuralsky and Yamal districts.
Currently, 45 MSW dumps that operate in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug are not included in the corresponding state register or a special list. Meanwhile, some of the large settlements, such as Salekhard, Nadym, Tarko-Sale, Urengoy, and others, do not have legal facilities for the placement of MSW at all.
In 2020, the Office established that 41 MSW placement facilities are operated in violation of the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation: 82 resolutions were issued for a total amount of 13.58 million rubles. For each fact, prescriptions were issued for the reclamation of land plots.
The head of Rosprirodnadzor proposed to strengthen municipal land control on the territory of the subject, especially on the territory of Novy Urengoy and Purovsky district. It is there that the most urgent problem is the removal of drilling waste. The head of the service also outlined the need to allocate land plots that meet the requirements of the legislation and create conditions for the safe disposal of industrial waste outside the settlements of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
In addition, Svetlana Radionova announced the opening of a department of state environmental supervision of Rosprirodnadzor in the city of Novy Urengoy.
“The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is a huge region, it is here that 1.5 part of the world’s gas is produced. There are more than 250 oil and gas production facilities in the Novy Urengoy region alone. This is about two thousand kilometers from the nearest divisions of our service. With the opening of the department, we will at least halve the time of the inspector on the way, ”the head of Rosprirodnadzor emphasized.
