  • High-Viscosity Oil will Continue to be Produced in the Nurlat Region

To do this, Tatneft will lay a network of pipelines.

Tatneft will start the fourth stage of development of the Pionerskoye field. This is necessary for the development of high-viscosity oil reserves. The project documentation has already received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. The news agency “Devon” learned about this from the message of the department.

Oil and gas gathering pipelines will be built at the Pionerskoye field from new well clusters to tie-in sites into existing oil pipelines, said Pavel Peregudov, an expert from Russia’s Glavgosexpertiza.

The total length of underground field pipelines at this stage will exceed 1.4 km. Shutoff valves will be installed at the beginning and end of each branch. The project also takes into account the volume and characteristics of the process equipment that will ensure the production of oil emulsion from the equipped well clusters.

The Pioneer deposit was discovered in 1960 near the village of Aksubaevo. Its industrial development has been carried out since 1989 using special technologies for extracting oil from carbonate reservoirs.
