IG Seismic Services Limited (IGSS), a joint venture of Integra Group and Schlumberger established a single computing center
IG Seismic Services Limited, the joint venture of Integra Group and Schlumberger, completed formation of an onshore and offshore seismic data processing and interpretation center. The single network includes four operational centers in Russia and Kazakhstan, located in Moscow, Tyumen, Tomsk and Almaty. A unique workspace has been created that combines the computing power of several service businesses, and enables them to widely use the principles of remote collaborative work under common projects of specialists from different cities, as well as to combine regional and international expertise in data processing and interpretation. Due to highly skilled personnel, significant processing power and advanced technology, the single computing center allows IGSS to solve geological tasks of any complexity and provide high quality data to the wide range of customers.
“For the IGSS joint venture the creation of the single computing center opens up new vistas with regard to expanding our share in the seismic services market. Now we have the opportunity to carry out integrated projects covering a complete range of services – from field seismic surveying to geological modeling and issuing drilling recommendations. This means that our customers can now work with us based on “one stop shop” principle, that is to deal with one contractor who is responsible for all stages of the project”, – said Antonio Campo, Chief Executive Officer, Integra Group.
The single computing center operates on the basis of OOO GeoPrime and AO Geostan – subsidiaries of IG Seismic Services Ltd. The headcount is more than 130 people. There are more than 50 workstations, the center uses more than 180 terabyte disk space, and the total processing power is more than 1100 CPU’s. This is one of the highest indicators for companies doing business in seismic data processing and interpretation in the CIS countries. In addition, the center applies unique solutions of WesternGeco, which have no analogues in Russia and allows to obtain the most reliable information during seismic data processing and interpretation (account of the influence of the upper part of geological section by CIP tomography, model based multiple attenuation technique, wide azimuth data processing, as well as other solutions). Also, the final stage of preparation for the center unification included training for regional subdivisions’ employees to use advanced software products of WesternGeco, Schlumberger such as Omega and Petrel.
