Igor Sechin Took Part in Celebrations Devoted to 60th Anniversary of President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez
Rosneft President, Executive Secretary of Russia’s Presidential Commission on Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Ecological Safety Igor Sechin took part in celebrations dated to 60th birthday of President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Hugo Chavez. President of Venezuela Nikolas Maduro and family of Hugo Chavez took part in the memorial ceremony held in Sabaneta, the hometown of Hugo Chavez.
In the course of celebrations Igor Sechin visited Mama Rosa, house and museum of the family Chavez, which is also an elementary education center. After that Igor Sechin planted a tree on the alley named after Hugo Chavez.
An opening ceremony for a square and a public garden named after Ugo Chavez took place in the center of Sabaneta. During the ceremony Igor Sechin on behalf of Russian president Vladimir Putin presented to Nikolas Maduro a fundamental book about life and political activity of President Chavez.
Igor Sechin made a speech, paying tribute to immense services of Ugo Chaves on establishing and fortifying strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela. During the celebrations Russian side was represented by the Choir of Moscow Sretensky Monastery, who performed a musical program.
