  • In the Omsk Region They Plan to Increase Gas Production at the Tevriz Field

Restoration work will be carried out in the summer of 2024 at the depleted Tevriz gas condensate field, which supplies gas to three districts in the north of the Omsk region, Alexander Pankratov, director of the Tevrizneftegaz company, told TASS. Thanks to this, it is planned to almost double fuel production and solve the problem of gas supply interruptions in severe frosts.

“The Gazprom company will carry out work to restore the functionality of well No. 5. They will begin in June and be completed in September. We expect that gas production will almost double – up to 35 thousand cubic meters per day. This will allow us to supply the population and even restore gas supplies to industrial enterprises,” Pankratov said.

First Deputy General Director of the Omskoblgaz company Sergei Zhuchkov told TASS that according to the program for the development of gas supply and gasification of the Omsk region, it is planned to bring main gas to the northern regions of the region in 2025. To this end, a gas pipeline is currently being built to the Bolsherechensky district, from where a 94 km pipeline will then be laid to the Tara gas distribution station and a 5.5 km link gas pipeline to the existing gas distribution networks in the northern regions. Thanks to this, it will be possible to gasify more than 2.4 thousand households and 14 boiler houses.

“The new source will ensure gas supply to new and supply more gas to existing consumers in the Tarsky, Znamensky and Tevrizsky districts,” Zhuchkov said. Residents of settlements where main gas will appear will be able to take part in the additional gasification program.

Natural gas production at the Tevriz field was organized in 1998 to supply gas to three districts, which are now home to about 70 thousand people. Problems with gas supply in the Tarsky, Tevrizsky and Znamensky districts began in the winter of 2019. In severe frosts, due to increasing gas consumption, the pressure in the gas pipeline decreases, consumers are transferred to heating from alternative heat sources. The construction of a main gas pipeline should radically solve this problem. Currently, gas is supplied from only one of the three wells.
