Innovation Man Contest started!
Innovation Man is a contest of innovation projects in petrochemical, oil&gas and energy areas organized by KAZENERGY jointly with Skolkovo Foundation and Polytechnical Museum of Moscow and sponsored by NC KMG. This Project was initiated under the VIII Youth Forum “Youth. Science. Innovations”. The Innovation Man Contest will enable to look at a new angle at development of intellectual skills and promotion of science. One of basic goals is to apply innovation projects to solve specific issues in the area.
Selection process will consist of two phases: selection; presentation and defense. Phase I key criteria include novelty and innovation component, prototype or model, actions implemented, commercial potential and project feasibility, relevance and social importance. Phase II will identify a winner based on project presentation or project defense outcomes. In addition to key criteria the final part of the contest will also consider the presentation content and presentation skills, persuasive skills, charisma and capability to answer questions as additional criteria. Based on results of two tours the Contest Commission that includes KAZENERGY Members, representatives of Skolkovo Fund and Polytechnical Museum of Moscow will select the best three projects.
Contest winners will have an opportunity to obtain an educational grant (MBA degree) with the Nazarbayev University, KBTU and Skolkovo Fund’s grant (up to 5 mln Russian rubles). The winners will also be able to participate in Skolkovo events in 2016 intended for young innovators and forming of a stand at the X KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum ENERGY4US “Innovative Energy”.
This is a second innovation projects contest “Innovation Man”. The first contest debuted in Atyrau on 8 September 2014 to have gathered 20 participants. Aisha Matayeva, a research associate of the Buketov Karagandy University, won the contest and 300,000 tenge. Her project was entitled “Cavitational treatment of crude oil intermediate fraction (200-300C) in presence of nanocatalytic systems”.

As a reminder, Astana will host the X KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum “new horizons of energy: cooperation and investment prospective” 29 September to 1 October 2015. Over 10 years the Forum has become a respected and powerful dialogue platform uniting the entire energy industry and oil and gas businesses. The KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum is the largest international event in the industry for Kazakhstan.
