  • Iran and Oman Agree to Jointly Develop the Hengam Field

Iran and Oman have signed an agreement on joint exploration of the Hengam joint oil field in the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.

The agreement was signed in the presence of President Ebrahim Raisi and Sultan Haytham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman in Tehran on Sunday, the oil ministry’s SHANA news service reported.

Based on the agreement, a Master Development Plan will be prepared to consider scenarios for bilateral cooperation on the exploitation of a joint oil field.

The agreement follows memorandums of understanding signed during last year’s visit to Oman by Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ouji, who accompanied President Raisi.
