Iran to Sign Oil Contracts Worth $2 Billion

National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) CEO Mohsen Hojasteh Mehr said Iran plans to sign oil development contracts worth more than $2 billion.

Agreements will be signed for the development of the Changule and Band-e-Karhe fields, as well as for the purchase of crude oil refining services.

Under the current government, he said, contracts worth $22.5 billion were signed, of which 88% were related to oil fields.

Under previous governments, contracts worth $13 billion were awarded.

“During the 2.5 years of the 13th government, we signed contracts worth $9 billion annually, which is 6 times more than in the past,” he noted.
