Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Ghani has invited international companies to bid for investment projects to develop 13 fields and exploration sites in the country’s northern, central and southern provinces, the oil ministry’s press office said in a statement to RIA Novosti.
“The Ministry seeks to increase oil and gas production and reserves, as well as encourage investment in the oil sector, in cooperation with international companies specializing in the development of oil and gas fields, inviting them to participate in an additional competition that includes 13 oil and gas fields and sites” , the message notes.
These fields include four exploration blocks that were not handed over to companies during the fifth round of licensing in 2018, as well as nine new fields and blocks.
