It Has Been 55 Years Since the Beginning of Udmurtneft’s Industrial Development of the First Field in Udmurtia
Udmurtneft (a joint venture of Rosneft and the Chinese Petrochemical Corporation Sinopec) 55 years ago began the industrial development of the first oil field in Udmurtia. The production well of the Arkhangelsk field in 1969 produced a high flow rate of high-quality Devonian oil.
Currently, the production fund of the Arkhangelsk field consists of 27 wells. The legendary first well No. 163 is still operating today. Over the past years, it has produced more than 425 thousand tons of oil. Another well of the Arkhangelsk field, No. 100R, holds the record in Udmurtia for accumulated production, which exceeds one million tons of oil.
Further development of the enterprise provides for an increase in oil production due to the commissioning of new high-performance wells with an elongated horizontal section, multi-hole wells using Fishbone and Dovetail technologies, as well as cutting side shafts on the existing fund.
In the near future, Udmurtneft is expected to produce the jubilee 335 million tons of oil since the beginning of field operation.
