Kazakhstan Has Declared Its Commitment to Cooperation Within the Framework of OPEC+
The Kazakh authorities intend to continue cooperation within the framework of OPEC+. This was stated by the head of the Government of the republic Olzhas Bektenov at a meeting in Astana with OPEC Secretary General Haitham al–Gais.
“Kazakhstan is committed to further cooperation within the framework of OPEC+. We support the initiatives of the organization, accept restrictions along with other countries, including on current voluntary commitments,“ the head of government was quoted by his press service.
He also pointed out the important role of OPEC in ensuring the stability of the global oil market.
“Coordinated actions by oil producers and exporters within the framework of OPEC+ help mitigate possible negative consequences and stabilize the market situation,“ the government explained.
In turn, Haitham al–Gais noted the significant role of Kazakhstan in the global oil market and the impact of measures taken in the country on ensuring balance and predictable pricing in the oil market.
“Following the meeting, Olzhas Bektenov and Haytham al–Gais confirmed their intention to continue successful and productive cooperation,“ the press service added.
Kazakhstan has been a party to the OPEC+ agreement since 2016. Oil production in the country is carried out by over 90 subsoil users.
