  • Kazakhstan Plans to Commission Two Large Gas Fields

    The national company of Kazakhstan Kazmunaigas intends to commission the Western Prorva and Kalamkas fields in 2027, production will amount to 1.1 billion cubic meters per year, the KMG press service reported on Friday.

    “In 2027, Kazmunaigas intends to put into operation the Western Prorva and Kalamkas fields. Gas production is expected in the amount of 1.1 billion cubic meters per year. Together with international companies, a total of 12 promising geological exploration projects are being developed, as well as projects for additional exploration of existing fields,” – the message says.

    In addition, within three to four years, KMG plans to launch the Central Urikhtau field – about 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Last year, the company began exploitation of the Aksai South, Vostochny Urikhtau and Rozhkovskoye fields.

    It is noted that KMG is developing a gas strategy, within which it plans to increase natural gas production to 6.7 billion cubic meters per year by 2030, excluding such large projects as Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan.
