  • KDR Well Engineering 2017: Improving Economics Across the Whole Life Cycle of the Well

    The third KDR Well Engineering event was held on September the 21st 2017, at the Palace of Independence in Astana. The main purpose of the event is to exchange experience and technical solutions amongst oil and gas department heads and leading drilling, completion, stimulation and EOR specialists.

    THE KDR opened with the introduction from Paul Seed, Director of TMG Worldwide, who are the organizers of this event. In his welcoming speech, Paul pointed out that horizontal drilling and fracturing plus other complex technologies are being deployed in Kazakhstan but greater technical understand and experience is required. This is why the KDR series of events are very important for the oil and gas drilling and production industry, to help disseminate information and drive technology adoption.

    Oleg Karpushin, Executive Vice President for Production, Exploration and Oilfield Services at JSC NC KazMunayGas delivered keynote opening speech. “Drilling, completion, workover and repair and improving the economics across the whole life cycle of wells is the topic of the current roundtable. Today we need to decide how to optimize the economics of the life cycle of thousands of operating wells. What technologies can be used to improve, in economically effective way, the drilling and production, stimulation, casing repair and managing annulus pressure? The aim of this forum is to exchange ideas and experience, also improve cooperation between customers and contractors” said Mr. Karpushin.

    The event lasted all day and was held simultaneously in three halls.

    245 delegates attended from 120 companies, 30 participants made presentations before the audience.

    All participants of the KDR noted the high level of organization, the participants who came to the event last year, noticed significant growth and expansion of the event.
