  • KMG, Sinopec and MOL will Begin Developing a Gas Field in Kazakhstan by 2024

    The Kazakh oil and gas company Kazmunaigas (KMG), the Chinese Sinopec and the Hungarian MOL plan to begin developing the Rozhkovskoye gas field in western Kazakhstan by the end of this year. The head of the Kazakh oil and gas company Magzum Mirzagaliev told reporters in Astana.

    “There are three partners – us, MOL and the Chinese company Sinopec. Already this year we plan to reach the first production, while it will be small, taking into account the fact that there are two months left. <…> In general, the reserves of the field allow us to plan production gas in the amount of about 1 billion cubic meters per year, we will reach this level in stages,” Mirzagaliyev explained.

    According to him, this year gas production at the field will amount to 13 million cubic meters. m.
