Kondaneft Introduces Artificial Intelligence to Optimize Production Processes

Specialists of NK Kondaneft JSC (a production asset of Rosneft) have started to create a neural network for processing information from equipment installed on the wells. The digital system, based on the data obtained, selects the optimal well operation mode for the most stable oil production. Also, with the help of digital technologies, any deviations that arise during the production process are quickly identified.

The use of artificial intelligence methods can increase the daily oil production of an enterprise by more than 50 tons. Additional production potential during 2021 is expected at the level of 18 kt. 

Digitalization in all areas of the Company’s activity is one of the key elements of the Rosneft-2022 strategy. The introduction of digital technologies increases the speed of decision-making throughout the entire production chain of the Company.

Currently, Kondaneft employees receive information about wells from the corporate information system. This information is processed and loaded for further digital analysis using artificial intelligence. Thanks to the fast processing of large amounts of data using intelligent algorithms, the neural network generates optimal well performance, increasing production efficiency.
