  • LNG Loading Site Will be Built in Yamal

Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive opinion on the creation of facilities for the shipment of liquefied natural gas within the framework of the Yamal LNG project.

The construction site is located in the Yamal district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, on the territory of the project for the production, treatment, liquefaction of gas, shipment of liquefied natural gas and gas condensate Yamal LNG (a subsidiary of PJSC NOVATEK) based on the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye oil and gas condensate field.

Here it is planned to create a site for loading LNG into a cryogenic mobile gas tanker (CryoPAGZ). On the loading platform, in addition to the main technological equipment, there will be an engineering communications overpass, scales with ramps under a canopy, as well as lighting poles and other necessary structures.

“The choice of technological equipment at the Yamal LNG production site ensures compliance with the requirements for industrial and environmental safety of facilities and communications for transporting liquefied natural gas,” said Andrei Putrya, chief expert of the project.

In accordance with the technology, the simultaneous shipment of LNG to tankers and automobile cryo-tanks is not provided, since this can lead to an unstable composition of gas products in the sea shipment system, the expert explained.

The developer is OAO Yamal LNG.

The general designer is OOO NOVATEK Scientific and Technical Center.
