  • LUKOIL and Nizhny Novgorod Region Sign a Supplementary Cooperation Agreement

    President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin signed a supplementary cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony took place today in Nizhny Novgorod.

    The agreement’s objective is to support and develop education, healthcare, sports and culture in the Nizhny Novgorod region. LUKOIL’s Social and Cultural Projects Competition is instrumental in carrying out projects that are of great importance for the locals. The competition has been held here since 2007. It puts a premium on encouraging individual social entrepreneurship initiatives.

    Since 2007, 1602 non-governmental organizations applied for LUKOIL’s grant support, out of which 464 got it. Total grant funding exceeded 100 million roubles.

    LUKOIL’s Social and Cultural Projects Competition in the Nizhny Novgorod is special, as it features long-term programmes that support arts and crafts, sports, volunteering, strengthening of family values, creation and transformation of public spaces, and nurturing environmentally conscious behaviour.

    Vagit Alekperov also had a meeting with Igor Komarov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District.
