LUKOIL Promises to Preserve Jobs in Komi After Merging Its Subsidiaries
Lukoil-Perm will retain tax contributions to the budget of the Komi Republic and jobs after the takeover of Lukoil-Komi. This was stated by the head of Komi Vladimir Uyba at a meeting of the republic’s Coordination Council for Strategic Management.
“There will be no fundamental changes,” noted Deputy Chairman of the Komi Government – Minister of Finance Vladimir Kazakov. According to him, Lukoil-Komi will cease its activities in Komi as a legal entity. It will become a separate division of the Perm subsidiary of LUKOIL, but will continue to submit tax reports to Komi.
“The income tax remains with us in the revenue part,” TASS quotes the minister as saying. – Taking into account the fact that the company joins a profitable organization, we expect to receive additional taxes. Therefore, from the merger of Lukoil-Komi with the Perm company, the republic will, at a minimum, lose nothing, and at a maximum, gain.”
In July 2023, it became known that Lukoil-Komi LLC would be merged with Lukoil-Perm LLC. This sparked discussions in the region. It is noted that income tax, personal income tax and corporate property tax form up to 88% of Komi budget revenues. The main share falls on oil and gas enterprises. The Komi budget was in surplus in past years due to high oil prices and the appreciation of the currency, the publication writes.
