LUKOIL: Supports Enviromental Project with Arctic Residents
The family-clan community “Nekutsya” in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug will clean up the nearby areas of the tundra, including the shores of the Barents Sea. For these purposes, a grant from the Competition for Social and Cultural Projects of PJSC LUKOIL has been used to purchase an environmentally friendly Yag-Mort all-terrain vehicle of domestic production.
Members of the community lead a way of life traditional for the indigenous peoples of the tundra, engaged in fishing and gathering wild plants. That is why the issue of preserving a favorable ecological situation for descendants is so important for them, which formed the basis of the initiated ecological project.
The new all-terrain vehicle will make it possible to clean up part of the coastal area of the Barents Sea and take out for disposal the garbage carried by storms, as well as generated along the nearby road. In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”
