LUKOIL-Western Siberia will Build a Landfill for Oil Waste Near Surgut
The 140-hectare facility will be located next to future wells
LUKOIL-Western Siberia LLC will build a landfill near Surgut to dispose of production waste from the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field. The area of the object will be 140 hectares, according to the state protection service of cultural heritage sites of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
According to the project, clusters of wells for oil production will be built next to the storage facility. Specialists from NIPI EthnoArcheo Center LLC conducted a survey of the site. They determined whether there were objects of cultural significance in a given area.
The deposit is located 75 kilometers from Surgut; zones on the territory of the Kogalym district forestry were checked. Experts conducted a field survey and then made pits in the areas. As a result of the work, archaeologists did not find materials of public value, according to the documentation.
LLC LUKOIL-Western Siberia is registered in Kogalym. The general director is Vladislav Zubarev, the founder is PJSC Oil Company LUKOIL, according to the Kontur.Focus system. In the course of its activities, the enterprise periodically attracts the attention of environmentalists. Pravda UrFO reported that in October the Arbitration Court of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug recovered 17.6 million from the company for an oil spill. The plaintiff in the case was Rosprirodnadzor of Ugra. The department also found violations of the subsoil use license at the company’s facilities.
