  • LUKOIL Will Increase Oil Production by 10 Times at a New Site in the Perm Territory

This will be possible thanks to a dense grid of wells and developed infrastructure.

LUKOIL-Perm commissioned 4 wells at the Gavrinsky block with a total flow rate of 60 tons of oil per day. The initial recoverable reserves of the recently discovered field in the Kuedinsky district of the Perm Territory amount to 3.7 million tons of oil. The Devon news agency learned about this from a company message.

The Devonian and Carboniferous horizons are commercially oil-bearing. In seven productive formations, 15 oil deposits of complex physical and chemical composition have been identified. The oil here is bituminous, viscous, with a high concentration of resins, paraffins and sulfur compounds.

It is planned to produce 16.5 thousand tons of oil per year. In 2025–2026, it is planned to drill 53 production wells and commission one exploration well. The dense grid of wells and the developed engineering and transport infrastructure of the site in the eastern suburbs of Kueda will ensure a tenfold increase in oil production – up to 165 thousand tons per year.

The Gavrinskoye field is located in the Solodovsky license area, where LUKOIL-Perm has been operating since 2013. Previously, this territory was closed to geologists, since it was adjacent to the Kuedinsky airport and had a special status. At the start of work, the site was characterized by a low degree of geological and geophysical exploration.

In 2019, during the exploration process, a significant set of studies was carried out, including detailed 3D seismic. According to its results, the Gavrinskoye oil field was discovered at the Solodovsky site. In total, three prospective structures were identified and prepared for prospecting and appraisal drilling: Solodovskaya, Badashkinskaya and Vostochno-Solodovskaya.

Four prospecting and appraisal wells with a total footage of about 10 thousand meters were then drilled on them. They gave industrial oil inflows in the reservoirs of the Moscow, Bashkirian, Visean, Tournaisian and Famennian stages. The average well flow rate was 16 tons of oil per day. The entire complex of basic geophysical works – field seismic, processing and interpretation of 3D data – was carried out by Permneftegeofizika.
