  • Metran Received Special Permission to Acquire the Russian Business of Emerson

On February 21, 2023, Metran received special permission from the President of the Russian Federation to complete a transaction to acquire the Russian business of Emerson. This marks the transition to the final phase of Emerson’s exit from business in Russia.

As a reminder, Emerson announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its Russian business, including Metran, a manufacturing subsidiary, and Emerson LLC, a sales and service organization, to local management on September 27, 2022. The announcement follows the company’s announcement in May that it was pulling out of the Russian business and exploring strategic options for selling Metran.

The announced changes mark a new stage of development for Metran; the enterprise develops new measuring instruments and automation systems on an import-independent platform, accepts orders and manufactures products, provides services. The company plans to develop in the field of complex enterprise automation projects, and also plans to strengthen its presence in international markets. Engineering personnel play a key role in this process.

In 2022, Metran worked to ensure a reliable supply of components in the new conditions, carried out the necessary internal structural changes, updated the IT infrastructure, and launched the www.metran.ru website. A new portfolio of products and services has been formed, both available now and with the prospect of expanding over the next three years. Level gauges, Coriolis and electromagnetic flow meters, analytical equipment, valves, wireless technologies will soon be available for order.

World-class production processes, a high production culture, a quality management system, a modern base of equipment and tooling are fully preserved and continue to develop.

“For us, 2022 has been both a year of great challenges and new opportunities. Despite all the challenges, Metran showed an excellent financial result. In 2023, due to the expansion of the range of manufactured products, we will hire new employees, we have ambitious growth plans and we will pay special attention to becoming the best employer in the Urals for engineers,” commented the CEO of the Metran Industrial Group Anton Viktorovich Druzhinin.

Metran was founded in 1992. From 2000 to the present, it has been a leader in the production and development of measuring instruments in Russia. From 2004 to 2022, Metran was the main production and business asset of Emerson in Russia and the CIS. Now the Metran Industrial Group is an exemplary world-class production, where modern equipment, the latest technologies and a high production culture are combined. All this is carried out and supported by highly qualified employees. The processes and technologies used at the Metran plant allow the company to develop new products, open production lines, guarantee high product quality and reduce delivery times.
