2023 was a fruitful year for Belarusian oilmen in discovering new fields, as well as a record year in terms of black gold production, BelTA learned from the Belorusneft enterprise.
In 2023, Belorusneft produced 1,876 thousand tons of oil. According to the company, this is a record figure for 28 years. Experts also note that, including from wells drilled in 2023, 201 thousand tons of raw materials were extracted. This is another unprecedentedly high result. “For the first time in the last 40 years, the increase in reserves due to the discovery of new deposits exceeded the annual level of black gold production by more than 400 thousand tons,” the company previously reported.
Another important indicator is rock penetration. Last year, 220 thousand meters were covered.
Such indicators are the result of daily large-scale work and the implementation of the most modern technological solutions. Thus, Belarusian oil workers were the first among the CIS countries to use advanced technology and set an absolute record for the number of hydraulic fracturing stages per day.
The beginning of 2024 was also marked by new discoveries. Belorusneft discovered a new deposit of black gold in the Gomel region. Belarusian oil workers associate their prospects with the Gartsevskaya area, geographically located within the Khoiniki and Rechitsa regions.
The production association “Belorusneft” was created in 1966. The company searches, explores and develops oil fields, drills wells, produces oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus, and works in the oil sector of other countries.
