MIOGE exhibition grows by 20% in 2011
The 11th Moscow International Oil & Gas Exhibition (MIOGE) was held on 21-24 June 2011 at Expocentre. The exhibition took place alongside the 9th Russian Petroleum and Gas Congress (RPGC).
More than 20,000 visitors came together for MIOGE, Russia’s largest oil and gas trade exhibition. The show boasted 20% more exhibitors compared to the previous edition of the event in 2009, featuring 856 oil and gas companies. Exhibition space increased by 5,443m• (net) to cover 23,670m• (net) over four pavilions. Exhibitors represented 39 countries including new participants from India, Angola, Estonia and Lithuania, broadening the scope of the event. Exhibiting national groups from Italy, Germany and the USA doubled the size of their participation at the exhibition, highlighting the rising commercial interest in the Russian oil and gas market.
Despite similar visitor numbers at MIOGE compared to the previous edition, repeat visits rose by an impressive 42%, elevating total attendance from 28,416 to 34,364 visits at the exhibition this year.
ITE’s Head of the Oil & Gas Division, Graeme Coombes commented:
‘There was a real buzz at MIOGE this year. The event’s expansion into new international territories and healthy growth in visitor numbers demonstrates the strength of the market and the exhibition. The show’s success is testament to the enormous work put in by ITE staff, and highlights the importance of this biennial event as a platform for the local and international oil and gas community to get together and do business.’
The 12th edition of MIOGE will take place again at Expocentre in Moscow, in June 2013.
