  • More than 500 Startups Applied for Participation in the First Technology Accelerator by Gazprom Neft

    Gazprom Neft has received over 500 applications from technology startups to participate in the first acceleration program in hydrocarbon exploration and production, Industry 4.0, capital construction and alternative energy. The geography of startups is represented by 88 cities from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the USA. 

    Startups submitted their projects in 150 areas in 5 global categories: Geological Exploration, Well Construction and Field Development, Capital Construction, Cross-functional Solutions and Gas and Energy.

    Most of the proposals were related to geology, development and operation of production facilities – Gazprom Neft received almost 90 applications on topics. The second most popular (more than 50 proposed technological solutions) was the direction of alternative energy sources and energy efficiency. The top-3 in terms of the number of submitted applications is closed by the area of ​​security at facilities – almost 40 start-ups offer their ideas for implementation at Gazprom Neft facilities. 

    Now all announced projects have been sent for multi-stage assessment. It is conducted by Gazprom Neft specialists and external experts. On September 17, the company will announce 50 technology projects that will be invited to the pre-accelerator. The pre-accelerator program includes educational intensives with practical training in product development skills, consultations with experts and master classes in project management. The pre-accelerator starts on September 27 and runs until the end of December 2021. After that, 10 most promising projects with high chances of integration into Gazprom Neft’s business processes will be invited to the accelerator.

    In addition, based on the results of an express examination, several projects will be selected from more than 500 applications, which will have the opportunity to present their solution at the Tyumen Oil and Gas Forum as part of OPEN DAY with the participation of potential investors on September 14, 2021.

    “In just a month, we have collected more than 500 applications for participation in our technology accelerator. This is a very good result, which suggests that the startup community is ready to enter our innovation ecosystem. In the next step, we will share our experience in technology management with the authors of the 50 best ideas and help build competitive business models. Both for us and for them, this is mutually beneficial cooperation, which in the long term will have an impact on the technological development of the entire Russian oil and gas industry, ”said Alexei Vashkevich, Director of Technological Development at Gazprom Neft  .
