Rosnedra reported that in January–September 23 new hydrocarbon fields were discovered in the country. However, fewer and fewer large assets are being identified every year.
This year, the discovery of a large field only on the account of LUKOIL is the Maganov field in the Caspian Sea.
All other new discovered assets are from the category of small and very small – with total reserves of just over 13 million tons of oil and over 300 million cubic meters. gas, RIA Novosti writes.
