  • Naftogaz Launched Two More Wells

The state gas production company Ukrgasdobycha, part of the Naftogaz of Ukraine group, launched two more wells, which increased production by 430,000 cubic meters of gas per day, said Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of the board of Naftogaz.

“JSC Ukrgasvydobycha, which is part of the Naftogaz group, has launched two high-yield wells, which in total produce over 430,000 cubic meters of blue fuel per day,” the press service quoted Chernyshov as saying on the company’s website.

It is noted that the first well – “exploratory”, was drilled at the site, which was discovered 40 years ago, its depth reached 5850 meters. According to Oleg Tolmachev, Acting General Director of Ukrgasdobycha, the second well was drilled at the 55-year-old field. According to him, seven new wells were put into operation in the specified field over the past year.

In March, the country’s Energy Ministry announced that Ukraine had increased gas production to over 50.5 million cubic meters per day. Chernyshov at the end of December said that in 2022 gas production in eastern Ukraine decreased, but at the same time, production in the west of the country increased.
