  • Nedra: Summed up the Results of the First Year of Work

    A joint venture between IKS Holding and Gazprom Neft, Nedra, went into profit and saw growth in other financial and operational indicators.

    Nedra, a digital transformation company for the oil and gas industry, has summed up the results of 2020, noting growth in a number of key areas:

    • The total number of personnel has reached 174 people, most of whom are project managers, business analysts and programmers working with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python;
    • Competence centers for technical areas have been formed, including Java, Pyton, C #, ML and others;
    • The first and key competence is defined – E&P Upstream. More work is being done in exploration and production;
    • The company has become part of one of the directions of the technology consortium The Open Group – Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) – and is ready to carry out design and consulting work in this area, relying on international industrial standards;
    • During the first year of operation, the company managed to reach the level of business profitability.

    “ Nedra has achieved great results in its first year of operation ,” says Eduard Ashrafian , CEO of Nedra . – Within a short period of time, a unique expertise in the development of solutions for digital transformation was formed within the enterprise, the main production and service business processes were introduced. Some of the implemented projects have been prepared for production, and we are negotiating the first implementations with potential clients both in Russia and in neighboring countries. In addition, our young company managed to break even in the first year, showing profit . 

    Nedra specializes in the development and implementation of solutions for digitalization of the oil and gas industry using Industry 4.0 technologies. The company’s projects are related to the automation of geological exploration and oil production, they use neural networks and machine learning technologies.

    The creation of the company was announced in December 2019. The project is being implemented with the support of Nexign (part of IKS Holding), with which the team of the joint venture built a CI / CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) pipeline, organized a modern process of flexible project development management and began active work on new solutions.

    Now the company’s portfolio includes more than two dozen projects. The largest and most notable of them are the industrial data management platform based on OSDU standards and the video analytics platform.

    Nedra joined the OSDU Forum (Open Subsurface Data Universe Standards Forum) consortium, which develops industry standards for data management for subsoil companies. This will help prepare Nedra solutions for global market launch.

    The Nedra team makes significant efforts to form the HR brand and corporate culture. Work is underway with universities, there is an internship program for young specialists. Eleven students from specialized institutions receive their first work experience at Nedra.
