New Achievements of Weatherford at Novy Port
Techinformservice, Weatherford Drilling Services in Russia, reached a new milestone, having drilled an 849 m horizontal hole section at Novoportovskoye field (Yamal Peninsula) operated by Gazprom Neft Novy Port LLC.
The section was drilled for 6 days (144 hours) with applying a HyperLine™ motor and HEL Triple Combo (HEL/HAGR/MFR/NDT).
Due to geosteering application the borehole was 96% drilled within the pay zone, which set a record in drilling of such long sections. Three times per day real-time information was received, logged, analyzed, interpreted, and preliminary petrophysical and geosteering conclusions were sent to the Geology Department of Gazprom Neft Novy Port. Geosteering of the well had also helped identify geological phenomena such as structural folds, which was also new and valuable information for the client. It enabled timely adjustment of the drilling trajectory.
