  • New Deposits of Bazhenov Oil Were Found in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug

The TNG-Group company received an influx of oil from the Zaozernaya well No. 1 and successfully completed work under the government contract. Experts have confirmed the oil content of the anomalous Bazhen deposits in the study area. The Devon News Agency learned about this from a message from TNG-Group (part of the TAGRAS oil service holding).

Specialists from TNG-Group and TAGRAS-RS successfully completed field work to study filtration and capacitance properties. The well is located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.

The work was carried out for the All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Petroleum Institute (VNIGNI) on the basis of the State assignment of Rosnedra.

The Tagras-Holding team carried out hydraulic fracturing (fracturing) at the promising site of the Bazhenov formation. 50 tons of proppant were injected at an injection pressure of over 400 atmospheres.

Hydraulic fracturing was monitored using microseismic monitoring of seismic events. The total length of the hydraulic fractures was about 570 meters, and the height of the seismic cloud was about 30-35 meters. The average crack width is estimated at 2.2 mm. Wellhead and deep oil samples are sent for study.

A parametric well in the Zaozernaya area should solve the most important geological problems for the Karabash oil and gas promising zone in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The productivity of sediments of the anomalous section of the Bazhenov Formation has been proven. This significantly increases the prospects of not only the Zaozernaya area, but also the entire Karabash zone.
