  • New Gas Reserves Discovered in the Emirate of Sharjah in the Northern UAE

The Petroleum Council of the northern emirate of the UAE – Sharjah under its government announced the discovery of large new gas reserves in the Al Khadiba field, located north of the Al Sajaa industrial zone in Sharjah, the Emirates News Agency WAM reported.

According to him, the new field was discovered after the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) spent the last few months drilling a well, which will be tested in the coming days to confirm the volumes and potential gas reserves in the field for development. It is expected that the reserves at the field are quite large.

Al Khadiba is the fifth onshore field located in Sharjah, in addition to the Al Sajaa, Kahif, Makhani and Muayed fields (converted into a gas storage facility).
