  • Nizhnevartovsk Oil and Gas Producing Company Starts Industrial Exploration of South-Uzunsky Licensed Site

    Rosneft subsidiary Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company starts commercial drilling on South-Uzunsky licensed site situated in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District-Yugra

    Two drilled wells provided average daily flow rate of 50 tons each. It is planned to drill 12 recovery wells, 5 service wells and 1 prospect well at the South-Uzunsky licensed site.

    On this site a program of research works is being implemented, which is aimed to examine the quality of reserves, formation productivity, and properties of formation fluid. On the basis of this data technologies of formation drilling and means of production will be elaborated. The prospect well will be drilled with providing expanded complex of geophysical exploration, with core sampling and subsurface fluid sampling.

    The Uzunskoye field was discovered in 1996. OAO Nizhnevartovsk oil and gas producing company (JSC) possesses a license for exploitation of the South-Uzunsky licensed site’s resources since 2013. Recoverable reserves of the Uzunskoye field within the bounds of the South-Uzunsky licensed site total more than 1,5 million tons of oil.
