Norway in September Reduced Gas Production to a Four-Year Minimum
Natural gas production in Norway in September amounted to 5.99 billion cubic meters, according to preliminary data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
This is the minimum volume for four years.
The indicator fell by 34% year-on-year and by 38% month-on-month. NPD forecast production at 9.5 billion cubic meters.
Norway in September also reduced production of oil, condensate and wide fractions of light hydrocarbons (NGL) by 1.9% compared to the same month last year – to 1.8 million barrels per day (b/d).
In August, according to updated data, production amounted to 2.013 million bpd. Thus, over the month it fell by 10.5%.
The country’s oil production averaged 1.644 million bpd last month, 8.1% less than the August volume, but 0.3% higher than the September 2022 figure. NPD predicted the figure to be around 1.73 million b/d.
The total volume of hydrocarbon production in Norway in January-September, according to preliminary calculations, amounted to about 170.6 million cubic meters of oil equivalent, including 77.4 million cubic meters of oil and 83.8 million cubic meters of natural gas. Cumulative production was 2.1 million cubic meters of oil equivalent. less than the figure for the same period in 2022, NPD said.
