  • NOVATEK is Implementing an Oil Program at the Harbeyskoye Field

NOVATEK-Tarkosaleneftegaz, a subsidiary of NOVATEK, is building an oil treatment unit (OTF) at the Harbeyskoye oil and gas condensate field (NGKM) in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO). NOVATEK announced this on May 3, 2023 in its Telegram channel. The OTU is being built on a neighboring site with an operating complex gas treatment unit (CGTP) of the field. At the OTU, oil will be brought to commercial quality, and the produced water will be prepared for subsequent supply to the reservoir pressure maintenance system (RPM). Currently, the initial construction cycle is underway at the OPF site.

The oil program of the Harbeyskoye field provides for the drilling of 53 oil wells, 35 of which will be built by the time the OTU is launched. Drilling is ahead of schedule due to the involvement of an integrated service, the use of high-tech equipment and innovative solutions to optimize well design. In the process of performing the work, record-breaking drilling rates were achieved for the NOVATEK group.

The Harbeyskoye oil and gas condensate field is located within the boundaries of the Severo-Russian subsoil block in the Tazovsky district of the YaNAO. The NOVATEK field was discovered in 2015. According to the results of geological exploration, gas reserves are preliminary estimated at 220 billion m3, the initial recoverable oil reserves are 48.5 million tons. The exploitation of gas condensate deposits of the Kharbeyskoye oil and gas condensate field began in November 2021. The oil development program of the Kharbeyskoye field will make it possible to use the potential of the production capacities of the field to the maximum.
