Oil and Gas Company Saneg from Uzbekistan Increased Gas Production by 3.5 Times
One of the largest oil and gas companies in Uzbekistan – Saneg – from 2021 to 2022 increased gas production by 3.5 times, to 1.4 billion m3.
This was reported by the press service of the company.
Saneg is the executor of the government program to increase oil production in the country.
The company has rights to use 103 oil fields.
At the time of receipt of these fields in 2019, the total volume of oil production was 378 thousand tons.
In 2022, Saneg was able to increase production to 586 kt.
The company has invested more than USD 750 million in the development of both oil and gas areas.
As part of the pre-exploration work at oil fields, Saneg specialists have discovered areas of gas deposits in 78 fields, currently 33 of them are under development.
From 2021 to 2022, the company managed to increase gas production by 3.5 times – from 389 million m3 to 1.4 billion m3.
This was achieved thanks to the launch of a program for the utilization of associated petroleum gas, which was previously flared at the Northern Shurtan, Shirkent and Turtsari fields.
Now the gas is sent for processing through separation and zeolite purification units.
The company also invested approximately $12.5 million in a flare gas utilization program.
Saneg currently accounts for about 5% of all gas production in Uzbekistan.
As part of its production program until 2026, the company plans to increase gas production to 3 bcm.
To do this, they intend to use modern exploration technologies to develop deposits in the Bukhara-Khiva oil and gas region.
Saneg also plans to drill ultra-deep wells to identify oil and gas deposits and conduct 3D seismic surveys in investment areas, including the Ustyurt region.
The company hopes that with the updated data, Saneg will be able to expand its operations and reach a new level of production capacity.
