Oil Companies Requested a Reduction in Fees for Emissions at Fields in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug
The oilmen explain the measures by the difficulties with the supply of equipment due to sanctions
Russian oil companies have applied to the Government of the Russian Federation with a request to amend the regulation on the calculation of fees for the negative impact on the environment from emissions of pollutants generated during flaring and dispersal of associated petroleum gas. This includes deposits in the YNAO and the Kara Sea.
According to representatives of Rosprirodnadzor, in particular, the oil industry proposes to set a coefficient of 0.25 to the rates of payment for emissions in the period from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2030 for new offshore hydrocarbon fields located in the Barents, Kara, Pechora, Chukotsky, Vostochno- Siberian, White Seas, and also in the Laptev Sea.
It is also proposed to establish a reduced coefficient for new hydrocarbon deposits located in the Yamalo-Nenets, Evenki, Taimyr, Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, Yakutia, the Irkutsk Region, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The announced measures are explained by the unfavorable macroeconomic situation and sanctions, due to which subsoil users face difficulties in supplying equipment necessary for the construction of gas infrastructure at the fields.
