  • Oil Production in Iran Has Increased By 60% in Two Years

    The chief executive of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said the country’s crude oil production has increased by 60 percent under President Ibrahim Raisi’s administration.

    Mohsen Khojastemehr said that according to statistics from the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the oil and gas sector has the lion’s share in the country’s economic growth.

    He added that over the past two years, oil production in the country has increased by 60 percent.

    Speaking at the 2nd Conference and Exhibition on Technology Management and Increased Knowledge-Based Production in the Petroleum Industry Value Chain, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum emphasized that the growth in oil production in the country is due to the measures taken by the current administration, IRNA reported.

    Elsewhere in his speech, Khojastemehr pointed to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies in the oil industry and noted that the company aims to increase oil production from its oil reservoirs using advanced artificial intelligence.

    Speaking about signing an agreement with Iran’s Vice President of Science and Technology to establish a Digital Oil and Gas Reservoir Solutions Center, the NIOC chief said his company intends to develop 15 oil and gas fields using artificial intelligence.
