  • On Oil Workers Day, Employees of Rosneft Enterprises Hold Socially Significant Events

Within the framework of the professional holiday, the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers, Rosneft enterprises are holding a number of socially significant events in the regions of their operation.

In the Tyumen Region, RN-Uvatneftegaz, Tyumenneftegaz and the Tyumen Oil Research Center, together with the Argumenty i Fakty Publishing House, organized an environmental campaign on the unique natural territory of the region – Lake Solenoye. On the eve of the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers, thanks to the employees of Rosneft enterprises, the lake was cleared of traces of “wild” tourism and the surrounding area was landscaped: garbage containers and information stands appeared on the shores, telling about the unique properties of water, mud and clay.

Salt Lake is a specially protected natural area, a natural monument of regional significance. Its properties are similar to the Dead Sea, therefore it is very important to ensure the correct and careful use of water resources.

In the Krasnodar Territory, Tuapse Oil Refinery, Marine Terminal-Tuapse, Kubannefteprodukt and Krasnodarneftegaz made and installed figures of the Red Book animals on the embankment of the city of Tuapse, which are studied and preserved by Rosneft. Figures of a dolphin and a polar bear were made by the workers of the enterprises and filled with core, which serves as the main source of geological information. In the future, the collection of animals will be replenished.

In the Samara region, the Syzran oil refinery opened the first oilmen’s park in the city in honor of the professional holiday – the plant workers planted 150 linden saplings. This tree lives for 300-400 years, has a high ability to purify the air. Planting trees is a continuation of the complex work of the enterprise on reforestation: this year, employees of the Syzran Oil Refinery have planted 7 thousand Scots pine saplings in the Racheyskoye forestry. A two-year-old young growth appeared on the site of a forest destroyed by a wildfire in 2010.

Novokuibyshevsk Refinery in 2021 became the winner of the All-Russian campaign “Green Spring”. Systematic work of the enterprise in the field of ecology was also highly appreciated at the All-Russian competition “Leader of Environmental Activity in Russia”: NKNPZ was recognized as the winner in the nomination “Best Environmentally Responsible City-Forming Enterprise”. At the plant, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, Rosneft is implementing a large-scale investment program to modernize production in order to increase the yield of light oil products and reduce the impact on the environment.

Another jubilee of this year – Samaraneftegaz JSC – celebrates the 85th anniversary of its activity. This is one of the oldest enterprises in the Samara region, the history of which began with the industrial production of oil in the region. Rational development of natural resources, introduction of advanced technologies to reduce environmental impact are important principles of work of Samaraneftegaz JSC. As part of the targeted gas program, recuperators were installed at a number of oil and gas production facilities, which made it possible to finally resolve the issue of rational use of associated petroleum gas at all of the company’s main fields.

Employees of Ryazan, the largest oil refining company in the Central Federal District, plant an alley of pyramidal poplars in the densely populated Dashkovo-Pesochnya microdistrict. This tree was chosen by the residents themselves, given its ability to emit large amounts of oxygen.

Caring for the environment is one of the key priorities for Rosneft. By carrying out campaigns in the regions of presence, the Company contributes to the formation of an ecological culture of the population.
