  • Opportunities for Business at Atyrau Oil & Gas

The 10th North Caspian Regional Atyrau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure Exhibition will be held on 5 – 7 April at the Atyrau Sports Complex, while the co-located 5th Atyrau Regional Petroleum Technology Conference (OilTech Atyrau) is held on the 5 – 6 April at the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel in Kazakhstan.

As the leading oil and gas event in the North Caspian Region – Atyrau Oil & Gas comprises a regional trade exhibition and technical conference. The event has become a traditional meeting place for oil and gas professionals from the Caspian and Western Kazakhstan region to meet with industrial specialists and suppliers from around the world.

Strategically located in the heart of the country’s commercial oil and gas industry, the exhibition has seen a consistent increase in the number of visitors since 2001. The region’s thriving industry and open market conditions have also contributed to the exhibition’s growth, where exhibitor space has already sold out 2 months prior to the show.

Atyrau Oil & Gas will take place across a 2000m² and will feature over 70 companies from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Germany, Italy, China, Russia and Ukraine. The event will be attended by oil and gas production companies, refining businesses and service companies, including KazMunayGas Exploration and Production, Tengizchevroil and NCOC. Exhibits will also be presented by agencies within the Kazakh Ministry of Oil and Gas; and Ministry of Industry and New Technology.

The business programme this year includes a tour of the gas turbine repair company, KazTurboRemont at their state-of-the-art repair services facility in Atyrau. The tour launches a series of special events and networking functions for all exhibition and conference participants.

The two-day technical conference – OilTech Atyrau will attract some of the most important and influential players in the industry. Over 40 international speakers will present papers to approximately 170 delegates. Key speakers include: David Moran, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; Uzakbai Karabalin, CEO, Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas; Zhandarbek Kakishev, President, National Agency for the Development of Local Content (NADLoC); and Evgeny Tolmachev, Deputy General Director of KazMunayGas Scientific Research Institute.

The programme is designed to meet the needs of technical professionals, which this year focuses on oil and gas processing, deepwater fields, occupational safety, social responsibility, waste utilisation, the legal and regulatory framework, environmental catastrophes (with an analysis of the effects of the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico), alternative technologies and energy efficiency. Alongside technical workshops, seminars and plenary sessions, the programme includes two roundtable discussions on ‘development of Kazakhstan’s content’ and ‘export of Caspian oil and gas’.

ITE’s Head of Oil & Gas, Graeme Coombes, commented: “Atyrau Oil & Gas is the region’s leading trade event and plays an important role in the continuing development of the oil and gas industry in the North Caspian. I am delighted to be visiting Atyrau again for this important week in the oil and gas calendar. Atyrau is a dynamic place for business and the event will highlight the commercial opportunities that are available for companies who are active in the region.”

Official OilTech Atyrau sponsors include DNV, Lloyd’s Register, NCOC, Technip Maritime Overseas Ltd, and Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies. Representatives from these companies will also present papers at the conference.

Atyrau Oil & Gas is supported at the highest level by the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Administration of Atyrau City, Administration of Atyrau Region, and KazMunayGas Exploration Production.

This event is organised by the country’s leading event organisers Iteca Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of ITE Group Plc and its international partners in the UK and Germany.
