Orenburg Subsidiary of Rosneft Transfers Wells to Solar Panels
Orenburgneft reduced electricity consumption by 365 million kWh from 2018 to 2022. More than 1.3 billion rubles have been saved by increasing energy efficiency over five years. The Devon news agency learned about this from a message from the press service of Rosneft Oil Company.
As part of the corporate energy saving program, the company’s employees have optimized the operation of oil treatment and transportation facilities. They also modernized downhole submersible equipment, pumping equipment in the reservoir pressure maintenance system (RPMS).
Ground infrastructure was also reengineered. Orenburgneft optimized the transportation of products from the Kodyakovskaya, Olkhovskaya and Malakhovskaya groups of fields. The construction of a new oil pipeline allowed saving about 1.3 million kW/h of electricity.
Orenburgneft converted 141 injection wells to solar energy. Some of the facilities have already been put into operation at the Pokrovskoye and Pronkinskoye fields.
Well controllers are powered by light modules. They allow specialists to receive reliable information about injection volumes online. The equipment allows to increase the efficiency of decision-making on the adjustment of the formation water supply.
In 2022, the enterprise reduced the volume of fresh water consumption for injection into the reservoir by 62% or 694 cubic meters per day. This became possible due to the transfer of injection wells for the injection of produced water. To this end, about 10 km of high-pressure water conduits were built in the Volostnovsko-Zemlyansky cluster and an RPM system was organized.
In 2023, it is planned to build more than 12 km of high-pressure water conduits at the Volostnovsko-Zemlyansky cluster, the Baklanovsky and Rodinsky fields. This will eliminate the consumption of fresh water at these facilities.
