  • Orenburgneft: Increased its Drilling Footage by 30%

Orenburgneft (Rosneft’s producing asset) drilled 30% more rocks in 9 months of 2021 than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, the ROP increased by an average of 2% due to the modernization of the rock cutting tool. The bits have high reliability and improved wear at maximum ROP.

Another innovation is the use of universal drill pipes with a diameter of 114 mm with an anti-corrosion polymer coating along the entire length of the horizontal well. This method makes it possible to exclude additional tripping operations to replace the tool set. The new pipes are capable of withstanding high loads and torques while drilling the production casing. Application of the technology shortens the construction cycle of one well by 2 days, the cost reduction is more than 2.5 million rubles.

The selection of the optimal drilling parameters using modern equipment designs made it possible to shorten the construction cycle of one well by an average of 46 hours and increase the drilling volume. By the end of the year, Orenburgneft specialists plan to increase production drilling meterage by almost 20 thousand meters compared to 2020.
