  • Orenburgneft Will Save More than 1 million Rubles when Repairing One Well

The specialists of Orenburgneft JSC (the producing asset of Rosneft) have developed a technology for cleaning the well after hydraulic fracturing (hydraulic fracturing). This technology reduces the well completion period by 13 hours and saves more than 1.3 million rubles. The potential average annual economic effect after the introduction of the technology is about 60 million rubles.

The development of technological potential is one of the key elements of the Rosneft-2022 strategy. The company pays special attention to innovation and the use of breakthrough technological approaches with an economic effect, identifying technological leadership as a key factor in competitiveness in the oil market.

The essence of the technology is to optimize the repair work algorithm, allowing to restore the bottom of the well after hydraulic fracturing and to carry out the subsequent development of the well.

Today in the oil industry, after the technological operation of proppant hydraulic fracturing, the bottom hole of the well is cleaned from proppant using an expensive coiled tubing * service. The use of a new development in a number of wells with appropriate geological conditions allows eliminating the use of coiled tubing, thereby reducing the cost of well workover.

In 2020, successful pilot tests (EPT) of innovative technology were carried out at three wells of the Pokrovskoye and Smolyanoye fields of JSC Orenburgneft. Based on the results of pilot testing, the technology was introduced into production.

    * Coiled tubing – continuous coiled tubing that replaces traditional collecting pipes when working inside wells. Due to their flexibility, they are able to provide access even to side and horizontal wells.
