The World Petroleum Council has appointed Petroleum Economist as the ‘Official Publisher – Official Publication of the 23rd World Petroleum Congress’ and Upstream as the ‘Official Publisher of the Daily News & Review’ for the 23rd World Petroleum Congress. The Congress will be held from 6-10 December 2020 in Houston with the theme of ‘Innovative Energy Solutions’, focusing on the vision of the oil and gas sector’s contribution to a changing world.
The 23rd World Petroleum Congress will provide the platform for open dialogue between consumers and producers, governments and industry, academia and financiers, leaders and society, in order to address these issues and present debates, developments and solutions for sustainable production and use of the world’s energy resources.
The objectives of the World Petroleum Council are the promotion of the sustainable supply and efficient use of oil, gas and other energy resources for the benefit of the public, and both publications of the 23rd World Petroleum Congress will reflect this through case studies and commentary from a distinguished panel of CEOs, government officials and energy experts.
“We are delighted to appoint two highly specialised publishers with a long history in the oil and gas sector which mirrors the WPC’s own. These publications provide our members and the participants of the 23rd World Petroleum Congress with world-class industry coverage by addressing the main issues facing our industry”, said the Director General of the World Petroleum Council, Dr Pierce Riemer.
