Poland Decided to Sell the “Daughter” of NOVATEK
Development Minister Waldemar Buda: Poland is selling Novatek’s subsidiary Novatek Green Energy.
Poland has initiated the sale of Russian NOVATEK’s subsidiary Novatek Green Energy, which had previously been subject to external management, the country’s development minister said. Mikhelson called the nationalization of assets a robbery and promised to sue.
Poland is engaged in the sale of Novatek’s subsidiary Novatek Green Energy, in which external management was introduced last fall due to being included in the sanctions list. This was announced by the Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda.
“We have previously made decisions regarding NOVATEK. The process is already very advanced. We are in the process of selling this property, ”Buda told reporters (quoted by RIA Novosti).
He clarified that Polish law does not yet allow seizing the company’s property. It is assumed that the proceeds from the transaction will not be given to the owners of Novatek Green Energy, but will be frozen. The minister did not name the amount of the transaction and the potential buyer.
RBC sent a request to NOVATEK.
Warsaw imposed sanctions against NOVATEK and its subsidiary Novatek Green Energy in April last year. Due to restrictive measures in the country, there were temporary interruptions in gas supply. The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs linked problems with the supply of fuel with sanctions against NOVATEK and the decision to stop supplies.
