  • Prestigious Gubkin Oil and Gas Awards to be Held at RDCR 2020

Prestigious Gubkin Oil and Gas Awards to be Held For the First Time at RDCR 2020

Digitalization is the current “buzzword” across all major industrial sectors, and perhaps none more so than oil and gas. As part of the “Digital Energy” project, run under the patronage of Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Nikolayevich Kozak, the Technical Society at the Gubkin University has nominated a number of leading figures from the Russian Oil and Gas industry to receive awards to recognise their achievements.

The organising committee of the 8th Annual RDCR Well Engineering Forum, being held at the Kempinski Baltschug Hotel in Moscow on the 23rd April, are pleased to announce that the Gubkin Oil and Gas Awards will be held during the Gala Reception at RDCR 2020. Dating back to 1967, these prestigious awards recognise outstanding achievement in areas including exploration, drilling and production efficiency, HSSE, automation and digitalization. The Technical Society that deliberates, nominates and decides the recipients was incorporated in 1933.

Prominent scientists and leaders within the Russian oil and gas industry are among past recipients of the Gubkin Awards, and include past and present Russian Ministers within the energy and oil and gas spheres, as well as CEOs and Presidents of some of Russia’s largest oil and gas companies.

Paul Seed, Director of the RDCR organising company TMG Worldwide, commented “It is a great honour for us that the RDCR has been chosen as the platform on which to recognise some of Russia’s greatest oil and gas minds with these prestigious awards. When we launched the RDCR in 2013, it was always our aim to make it the preeminent meeting place for the drilling and production community in Russia. The last few years has seen an exponential growth in the number of delegates attending, and we are proud to work with an outstanding Russian oil and gas institution such as the Gubkin Oil and Gas University.”
