Production Output at the Vankor Field Reaches 20 Million Tonnes
The 20-millionth tone of crude oil was extracted from the depths of the Vankor oil field in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region.
Currently Vankor produces 39 thousand tons of crude oil per day. According to Vankorneft’s business plan, in 2011, production from the field will reach 14.8 million tons.
This year, plans call for the commissioning of 5 new cluster platforms at the field, in preparation for which construction and installation work is now underway. The number of production wells should reach 166 by the end of the year.
The application of advanced production methods and technologies will enable the production schedule to be moved forward. Cluster drilling of wells is currently in progress at the field. Most of the wells have a horizontal end with horizontal sections of up to 1,200 meters in length. This technological solution, which is applied taking into account the peculiarities of the field’s geological structure, makes the most efficient use of available resources.
